About Uncle Sam's
First it was Punk and the accommodating New Wave. Then it became Progressive which quickly relabeled itself Alternative. Gothic arrived and spread its wings, then hardened into Industrial and it's electronic spawn. Along came Grunge, which begat Jam and the acoustic instruments were dusted off. Meantime, the sleeping disco beat dropped 4 on the dancefloor and demanded hypnotic attention under a myriad of trended genres. Then Punk emerged from the garage again, younger and sadder, not realizing that everything splinters and is reborn again, sometimes before our ears.

This is where we've been and what we are: The moving fringe that is independent music. The underground. The bleeding edge of alternative culture and lifestyle. We live here. We bring to life those things that parents dread and offspring embrace. We defy and define. We outfit the geeks, punks and squibs with noise, hairdyes and ideas that challenge convention.

Born on Independence Day of 1985, Uncle Sam's steadfastly remains South Florida's flagship indie record store, serving the musical and lifestyle needs of those who see the world just a bit differently. In our stores, you'll find:
